Please note: Students may not receive the President’s Grant and the President’s Scholarship in the same term.

Annual funding for the President's Grant is limited; not all students who meet the eligibility criteria will receive an award.

Grant Details

The President’s Grant is awarded to eligible students annually until the funding allocation is exhausted.

Recipients of the President's Grant will see this award as part of their financial aid offer. The award will also be visible in the MyUMGC Student Portal.Ìý

Packaging for each upcoming aid year typically begins in early spring. If additional funding becomes available throughout the aid year, awards will be made to additional students.

Undergraduate students and students in graduate three-term programs may receive these funds for the fall and spring terms only. Students in graduate four-term programs may receive these funds for the summer, fall, winter, and spring terms. Funds cannot be transferred from one term to another.

Students are strongly encouraged to complete the FAFSA as early as possible each year when it becomes available in October.

Please note: UMGC aims to offer scholarship and grant funding to as many eligible students as possible each year based on available funding. For this reason, it is not common for students to receive more than one donor-funded or institutional scholarship/grant in an aid year.
